All About Promo Codes

Why isn't my promo code working?

The most common reasons are:

  1. It was time limited and your code is expired
  2. You’re an existing customer trying to apply a new customer discount
  3. You’re trying to apply a code to a subscription
  4. You’re trying to apply two codes to one order

Keep scrolling for more information on each of these scenarios.

How to I generate discount codes in the Rewards Center?

Easy. Once you’ve earned points, cash them in for $5 and $10 discount codes. They will be created immediately and be emailed to you in case you want to use them later.

Who is eligible for discounts, and when?

We offer a special one-time discount to new customers, with a choice between two generous offers: either a large discount on the sampler pack or a discount on your entire first order.

In both cases, we don’t make any money—they completely eat up our margin—so we can only honor one per person.

Once one is used, the other expires, even if it hasn’t been redeemed. After your first order, we occasionally send out 10% discount codes to returning customers as a small thank-you. Thanks so much for understanding!

Why do you discount less than some other brands?

Because we manufacture in small batches with premium ingredients that require special sourcing, our margins are thin. To be sustainable, we must do a minimal amount of discounting.

Unlike many brands, we don’t run constantly send out random offers and run seasonal sales—but we don’t do zero discounting, either. New customers receive a generous first-time offer, and after that, anyone who needs a break on price is encouraged to subscribe and save 10%.

We believe this approach is better for everyone than artificially inflating prices and relying on nonstop promo code marketing.

Why is there a limit on some discount codes?

Some codes have cash value limits so that we don’t lose money on them. Typically, this is indicated when the code is presented, but you might have missed it. Our bars are expensive to make and we have slim margins. Capping discounts is necessary for our business to be sustainable.

I’m a returning customer—why isn’t my discount code working?

We really appreciate your loyalty! We occasionally offer 10% off to returning customers, but our 20% discount is reserved for first-time buyers only.

That offer puts us at break-even, and we can only afford to do it once—to help get people in the door. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to keep the business sustainable.

If you received an email with a larger discount code anyway, it is most likely because we have multiple email addresses for you in the system, and only one is associated with a customer account.

Feel free to unsubscribe that email address, but be sure to subscribe the email associated with your customer account instead. Otherwise, you will miss out on promos you do qualify for.

Can I apply discounts to subscriptions?

No-because they are already discounted and we’d lose money. There is one exception: Promo codes generated in the rewards center can be applied. You earned it! You’ll need to create a new subscription and apply it during checkout for this to work.

Can I apply two discount codes to one order?

Nope! Did you really think we’d allow that? Sorry but we’d lose money.

Can I apply rewards points to subscriptions?

Sorry, no. Subscriptions are already discounted and adding rewards disconts on top would mean we would lose money on some purchases. We just can’t.
Hopefully you can appreciate the 10% discount you are getting rather than focussing your attention on missing out on the addtional 1% you’d get by applying rewards points.
